no, but do you do other exercises as well? just doing push-ups will only develop certain muscles in your arms and back. you have to have a balanced exercise program to have a balanced physique. |
|
right on

growth is geneticly controled provided you eat and excersize properly. It will help it. |

Hi,
keep up with the push-ups, you will grow strong, and will be very attractive...
are you hoping to stunt your growth because you are tall for your age? don't worry, as far as physical appearance goes, most women prefer their men tall, and being built doesn't hurt either.
Happy push-ups! |

In a word, no. Doing push-ups will only increase your strength, which definitely is a good thing. |

If your 5'9 at age 12 then you shouldn't worry about whether it will stunt your growth or not, your tall for your age. The average full grown man is 5'10 so you're fine. But doing pushups will be great exercise and theres nothing to worry about, i don't think it will come close to stunting your growth. |

Exercise encourages growth, unless it's done to excess - like professional gymnasts or athletes. |

you're tall for your age... well anyway no i don't think it would. very high weight excersises might, but pushups are just body weight it's like asking if walking would stunt your growth (I'm not saying you're dumb, I'm just comparing it to something) |

Doing push-ups everyday is great exercise. It won't stunt your growth, it will just make you stonger.
5'9" is pretty tall for a 12 year old, so it sounds like you'll be pretty tall when you finish growing. Remember, the height of both of your parents contributes to your full growth potential, but that doesn't mean that you won't be taller than they are.
Either way, just be happy with what you have and keep on doing those push-ups. |
