Tanning only causes cancer in the sun. On the other hand you cannot get cancer in tanning beds?

cancer in your pocket

Melanoma can be caused by ultraviolet radiation, not skin cancer such as squamous cell or basal cell ca..

Its the UV rays of the tanning lights that can lead to skin cancer. You can also get it from regular sunlight.
Since the ray in the tanning bed it self are quite powerful it can lead to skin cancer faster than normal sunlight. Just because not to be over exposed to it and you'll have a bett chance of not getting cancer.......don't forget to use a light sunscreen when useing a tanning bed....it'll take longer but its better for your skin.

Yes. Absolutely, yes. Tanning causes cancer. In tanning beds, and in the sun. YES. YES. YES. Causes skin cancer.
If you want to look tan, try a self-tanner or Mystic Tan. Sure beats getting skin cancer. My aunt had to have half her nose removed from skin cancer. She looks freaky now. Don't risk it.

a medical AND scientific? :O
hehe.
Anyway, now that I'm done mocking you I can safely say no, not directly, but it can over the years LEAD to skin cancer but it really just increases your chances of getting it. The more one is exposed to the rays the more chances you are going to be effected ---this is fact.

Yes. Tanning in the sun or tanning beds can cause and increased rick for skin cancer. It will usually show up much later in life. My first wife died of malignant melanoma. It is a disease that once spread is practically impossible to treat. The sun can be health. But ALWAYS wear a good sunscreen. Check your skin for changes. Particularly new moles or changes in moles. These are big red flags. Don't avoid the sun, but take precautions. She was only 44.

Excessive exposure to UV rays can cause skin cancer. It doesn't matter if you are exposed to them from the sun or from tanning beds.
