If something bad happens to you, there is always a positive side, although it may not be apparent right away. If you have a dark cloud, ask yourself what is the silver lining. I as myself what the silver lining of every day is. Yesterday, it was taking my son to see the new house we just bought. Today, it's waking up and taking a walk. Little possitives add up to lots of good for you and your reality.

It's not always easy, but when you get down, try to count your blessings and think of the things you DO have.
Got money problems? At least you have a job. Be thankful!
Don't have a job? At least you have the ability to look for one. Be thankful!
Have health problems? At least you aren't in ICU somewhere with an incurable disease. Be thankful!
Have an incurable disease? At least you are still alive to participate in the lives of your family and friends. Be thankful!
I know saying "it could be worse" doesn't sound encouraging, but it really is. Things could be much worse.
What if you had been born in a 3rd world country, with a slim chance of survival, not to mention heartbreaking living conditions? At least you are fortunate enough to be in a free country, with access to all kinds of knowledge and education through the Internet. Be thankful!

My simple answer for you is to volunteer. Find something you truly love, for me it's kids and animals. I volunteer as a wish-granter for Make-A-Wish and also work in a sports mentoring program for at-risk youth. It's amazing the effect this has on your life. It truly has a way of putting everything in perspective and helps you realize that no matter how bad you think you have it, there is always someone, somewhere that is in a much, much worse position than you. It is truly a win-win situation, you are helping out someone who needs you and you are getting some real perspective on your own life. Makes you feel fortunate for what you do have!

Attitude is everything. You have to make up your mind as to whether you want to be an optimist or a pessimist. Your friends will thank you for becoming the optimist, trust me! You can let life happen to you or you can happen to life and stewing over things that have already happened seldom makes them better.

Its good to change your attitude for good.....
You need to TRAIN your self to be a POSITIVE THINKER!

Tips

* Talk to your self with positive words... especially, Right first thing in the morning and, In the night before you go to sleep... But you can do this at anytime when you feel free and relaxed...

Some Positive words to keep in mind.....

I AM HEALTHY
I AM ACTIVE
I AM POSITIVE
I AM ENERGETIC
.. etc

You NEED to have a mental image on what you say and think that you have already Achieved it!!! (even if its not...you need to fool your mind ..... cos ...this Technique works 100%, you need to have FAITH!)

In few weeks , You will be SURPRISED!!!!

* Always Move with POSITIVE Thinkers and AVOID Negative People

* ALL the SUCCESSFUL People on Earth Practice the above mentioned Technique ....with or without their Knowledge.....

look at the positive things going on in your life.. and work with that and motivate to progress on working on those things that just aren't right or are wrong in your opinion and make them positive, if you can't then it's time to move along to another platau.

also if there's people in your life who are always negating your life and things about it.. maybe it's time for them to leave and for you to move along...

if there are situations that are bad.. negative... time to work them out so they're in better working condition... (money, finances in general, the house being in shambles.. work not up to par... boss on your case about things...) these are fixable.

if a friend is glum and needs a friend to cheer them up that's another fixable way.

helping yourself too in many ways.

getting out there more.. noticing things you haven't taken the time to notice before that isn't negative. that clears the cob webs of discouragement from time to time.

do things that you wouldn't normally do or take the time to do.
go to a park.. take a friend or family... ride bikes in the hills.. take a small trip to another town and soak in their culture, bring back some pie and ice cream..

surf the net for opportunities to help yourself and others.

give advice you are sure of to those who can stand a bit of it to help them and so on.

if one thing is going on wrong.. look at the things that are going on right and maybe try if you can see what you can do to unwrong the bad situation.

believe that every unfortunate event that happen to you now is actually shaping another fortunate event in the future, and it is really true. No matter what kind of block and barrier you have in you life that stopping you to success, just bear in mind that it is part of the road to success and if you fail to overcome it, you are NOT FAIL, you are just NOT YET SUCCESS, no matter how many time you lose to the barrier, as long as you get past them once, you are the great WINNER. Dont afraid to lose, you start from 0%, if you success you will get 100%, else you will get 0%, there's no gap between your starting point and the unsuccess point, both 0%, so fear nothing, you wont lose anything if you are not yet success. Most importantly, dont worry be happy :) Hope it may help

I have little inspirational sayings, verses and quotes that hang on the bathroom mirror. Every day I look at them and read them while I am brushing my teeth, doing my hair etc...It gets in your spirit and can start your day off on the right mental footing.
Also, when you are feeling negative and you start to hear those "tapes" playing in your mind telling you all the bad stuff about you stop those immediately and think of something good. I think of my husband and our relationship and how good we are together (unless we're having a bad day of course ha ha), I think of my best friends and how much I value them, I think of my kids and the smiles that have when they are happy, I'll think of a vacation I took, I may just look outside and admire the birds flying around without a care or the wind blowing through the trees...whatever it is you have to replace the negative self talk with affirmations about yourself and whatever it is that brings you joy. If someone says you are pretty or smart or you did a good job on something don't excuse it, don't say replace it with a negative (women are good at not taking credit for things) just say thank you and repeat those things to yourself through out the day. Does all of this sound cheesy? It really works but you have to be very concious of it.
Also, I exercise...exercise (even a short walk) creates a chemical reaction in the brain and releases endorphines which brings our mood up. Those few things have helped me tremendously. I am one that naturally looks to the negative and I have simply had to re-train myself to think differently. I hope that helps you in some small way. Best wishes to you on your journey to the bright side...once you get there you'll be happy knowing that it was worth the effort and hard work on your part.

Its not easy to think positive all the time, but I find that being optimistic about every good thing that happens usually helps. But being negative about things won't work.

Things do go bad in life, but if you sulk about them long enough you will never see a bright side of life.

Whats happened in the past has happened, now is the time to look up and plan an optimistic future. That's what gives me a smile anyway!

What helped me was doing for others; helping others. If you are giving of your time, it kinda gives you a giddy feeling, like you made someone else smile.
Volunteer at pre-school or grade school. Those kids will make you see the brighter side of life, for sure!
When I'm giving of myself, then I'm not focused on 'self' so much.

It really works. Maybe you would like to try something like this.
I'm sure your community has a volunteer board. Ask your teacher.

reember that you here for a purpose...look atall the bad things that have ever happened to you, remind yourself that you survived them...remeber that for every person who seems to be making your life hard...theres always someone (tho u dnt neccasarily see them) who wants to make you smile...study ppl...nt everyone sees the bright side...but in order to feel true happiness u must appreciate it...that means facing tough times and not giving up...but the outcome will make you see the bright side...appreciate..give...smile...dont let anyone get you down!!

remember this: always try to seek all things Healthy, Positive, and Happy.... together.

if anything is one, but not the other, don't pursue it. for example, if u have a friend that makes u Happy, but pressures u to do drugs (unhealthy) or is mean (negative), don't spend too much time with that person.

keep Positive, Healthy people around you, and constantly keep your mind Open and willing to learn, observe, and DO new things all the time, till u figure out what works best in your life! remember that u can ALWAYS learn more, and change things. no matter what u've done in the past, u can change ur mind, u can apologize, u can learn from it. u know? there IS always a "bright side", but human nature is weak, and it allows us to fall or doubt constantly... but we were born with a BRAIN. Consciousness. we don't have to accept what life throws at us...we have to LEARN how to deal with it in the best way possible.

or u can sit there and be negative and not care, or blame the world.... =T but that's neither healthy, positive nor happy!

my advice to u, would be to first work on yourself: make sure u are happy with your Appearance (the better u look, the better u feel, the more confidence u have); your Mind (the more you know, the more u seek knowledge, the more u learn about hobbies and activities, the more u have to say, and develop your thinking); and finally your Relationships (with friends, family and even strangers! the more confident u are in your looks and mind really help u to open up and meet, talk, discuss, learn, grow, teach others), u will begin to see that you have the power to change things in ur life , to constantly seek what is Positive and Good, and filter out the Negative and Bad.

:) good luck to all of us out there... a life is worth living, but we have to first believe we are worth it before we can do anything good with it!

No matter what happens during your day, there is always something positive to look at. Just keep practicing thinking positive and you will always be looking at the bright side. Learn to trust God and you will have a lot less worries.

I was recently thinking about making a "sunshine book" where I could write down all the good things that happened during my day, that way I can feel happy :)

Don't always look at what's wrong with your life but what's good with your life. Family, friends, job...or whatever is good with your life. But also remind yourself that even if something bad happens, you should be thankful because it can always be worse and someone else is always worse off than you. Life is 10% what happens, and 90% how you deal with it.

By being Thankfull for what you already have, by counting your blessings. And by focusing on others rather than self. This seems to help me, It is always easy to get caught up in me and my and I and mine. But If you were with a group of people you knew or did not know within this group everyone decided to write their problems down on paper and folded it up place inside the GREAT BIG OLD BOX and you picked some one Else's problem read it,Believe me you would give it back to that person and take back your written problem, REMEMBER THIS: There is always some one out there with a problem or problems that is so much BIGGER THAN YOURS . I have never seen so many answers to a question...
I would say learn to count your blessings. Can you see? You are blessed. Can you walk? You're blessed. Do you have decent food? You're blessed. Can you worship God freely? You're blessed. Do you have most of the parts of your body that you were born with? You're blessed. Can you walk? You're blessed.
You have internet? You're blessed. Do you have people in your life that love and care about you? Blessed again! Be thankful for all that the Good Lord God has blessed you with.
And remember "when troubles come, this too shall pass."
In a hundred years, will it really matter?
Think on things that are just, honest, lovely, of good report, if there is any virtue, any praise think on these things.

ALWAYS?, Well I have no real answer for ALWAYS, but I can say more often than no, be realistic about situations, because even if the situation seems bad- there are some things in life you can change and many you have no control over- so in other words- don't cry over spilled milk- just clean it up and be happy that you got a clean floor instead of one with milk on it where you can slip and fall.

be positive, stay around positive people and avoid all others that do not keep your spirits on the right track and always know there is a higher power to help you guide you through difficult times and with a clear mind, you will always see the way( for me it's God, common sense, wisdom and all the lessons I have learned from through my life experience)

And remember that everything happens in life for a reason- you may not know what the overall reason is for at the time- but looking on the bright side of things- you will just go with the flow of life and enjoy the moments you are in instead of looking at things in a negative light- just remember that people and experiences come in and out of our lives and some people and things are to teach us lesson for us to use in the future- enjoy life- we only got one chance at this.
