I need help taking off and putting on my contacts?
yea i just got contacts today and i had a very hard time on taking em off and the doctor put them on 4 me so its gonna be hard to put on im guessing so plz help me
I don't know why they let you leave the doctor's office just like that! What you need to do is call your optometrist's office and go back in and have them train you on how to use them. It's usually a 15 minute appointment and by an optometric assistant. They train you to clean, care and wear your contacts. Also you should get a follow up appointment to make sure that the contacts that were given to you fit correctly, aren't rejected by your eyes and that you can see well. They shouldn't be bothersome. If you experience any pain take them out and call your doctor immediately. Read the information on the link I will give you also because it is important you take very good care of your eyes. http://acuvue.com/lens_wear_tips.htm

Just take it easy. I've been wearing contacts 20+ years. Make sure they're not dry (squirt them down good before putting them in) and squeaky clean. Make sure your hands are squeaky clean too. Wash your hands before putting them on.
Best method I've found was to balance the contact on my middle finger, using my index finger (right hand) to balance my hand against my cheekbone while putting the lens in.
Most likely you're shy about "poking" your eye. Once you do it successfully a few times, you'll be good to go. Take your time and relax.

The answer to your question is the same as the answer to the question about how does one get to Carnegie Hall. Practice. practice, practice. When I had contacts it took me almost 1/2 hr. to get them in or out the first couple of days. But after a little while I could pop them in or out without even looking in the mirror. Don't worry you'll get the hang of it. Just practice.

Soft contacts? To make this simple...
-1st wash hand thourougly with soap (no moisturizers in it) and dry with a lint free cloth/paper towel.
Get in front of a mirror if it helps
-Take the contact lens inspect for damage and that it is the right way (check the profile of it, it should look like a bowel)
-Take one hand and hold your top lid open
-Using your other hand put the contact on your pointer finger and with the same hand use your middle finger to hold down your lower lid
-Look up and place contact on your eye with pointer finger
-Look down into it then you can close your eye once it is centered
To take them off it is easier
Just look in the mirror (hands washed and everything) look to the side or up and use your pointer finger to drag it on to the white part of your eye and then pinch it off.... not your eye tho lol
